My brother's TWO new Moo-S2's
Stubacca
Unbelievably, my brother Rich has just taken delivery of not one but TWO new S2-Classics. One's a fretted 4, the other a fretless 5. The cheeky so-and-so also had the nerve to have LEDs on his 4-string. But to really add insult to injured-one-up-man-ship, he's got them faced with the last two chunks of Moo-wood Rob had left.

So, here we are, with the 2 new babies in their moo-ey glory, along with my S2 5-string, in my garden, grinning like idiots:

More pics coming very soon, full of spalty goodness.

A few more pics as promised. First up, a closer view of the trio:

And from the back:

Let's take a closer look at the three basses - first, my own S2 from 2002:

Next up, the fretless. Note the custom charcoal grey fretlines, which I think look nicer - more subtle - than the standard red:

And a proper close-up of that moo-wood top:

Here's the lovely 4-string:

And finally, a close-up of the moo-tastic top:

Not pictured - Rich's Energy, and our brother Matt's 1995 Energy 5-string. Incidentally, Matt lives 2 streets away from the Status factory in Colchester!

I'm afraid 'moo wood' doesn't count unless the are 'thru-neck' basses!!!

JUST KIDDING!

They're great. He must be chuffed to bits.

Thanks for the pictures.

Very nice basses indeed, congrats!

One day, I hope to get enough funds to order a new S2 or KB with moo wood...these tops are really stunning.

Ciao!

Haha - thanks! Actually Rich was telling me that Rob expected him to go for thru-necks, as it wouldn't have been much more expensive, what with the moo-wood requiring the high gloss lacquer. But we both agreed that we prefer the look and feel of a bolt-on. It's just that extra bit of wood in the centre of the body.

Also, with a bass of this quality, the difference sound-wise is going to be negligible.

Can't tell you how happy I am with these 2 instruments - Rob has really outdone himself here. They play and feel and look fantastic - real 'keepers' that will age well too!

One left...

I believe that they are making a law in the UK against owning two Stati basses of almost the same kind. Well, in that case, I have good news for you. The bass can stay at my house in Holland. I will take good care of her and will take her every weekend to a gig with me and.... I will charge nothing!!!! What a nice guy am I.....

I have reserved one of the last pieces of moo wood. There may still be some with Rob!

Not too sure.
