Been quite some time since I have dropped by here.

Just though you might like to know, I have just seen an S2000 FPPR go up on eBay this morning:

It's 3 older than our FPPR Series 2000!

I'm confused by a couple of things with this bass. One is the estimated date of manufacture (1982) and that it claims to be identical to MKs.

I don't know when MK got his FPPR but I first saw it around 1986/7 when the RITF album came out.
His one in the Levi ads and used during the Saturday Night Live performance has the 'Signature Status' brass plate, active switch and LED, GMT pickups and the thinner/lower frets.
All the bass for sale doesn't have.
This bass must surely be of a later date and isn't really identical.

Anyone else know more, or if MK had more than one red one? I know he had the earlier Series II featured on the True Colours album and 'Chant Has Begun' video.

According to information on the Statii Facebook page showing a message from MK, it appears that the FPPR (seen in the Saturday Night Live performance) was in fact a painted SeriesII and not as I'd always thought a Series 2000.
He says the only S2000 he had and still has was the dummy bass he used for TV.
So the Blue one must also have been a SeriesII I guessing.

He lies a lot that Mark King... AND, I don't think he's a real King of anywhere!

Lies lies lies!

The only person who knows less about the history of the FPPR Series 2000 is Rob!

Hasn't a clue

I am so confused with all the contradictory information.
I bought three Series 2000 searching for that MK sound (especially that SNL FPPR performance sound and the True Believers sound which I understand IS a Series II). I have a Sn30, Sn432 and Sn419 which is almost identical in sound to the SNL FPPR.

Moo are you definitely saying that the FPPR used on SNL is a Series 2000?
Do you know the whereabouts of that bass now and the blue one I saw him use on tour?
The one you have with Andre I assume isn't one of MKs ex basses??

Cheers
