Re: Frank Itt
Not a Status Player precisely. Just A Strata. And so long ago, this is the Best pic (with the Green machine) the web provided.

Re: Deon Estus and George Michael played on Status Matrix
Wow never seen a Statii with a pickup cover before. A nod to Marcus Miller I guess?

Re: Deon Estus and George Michael played on Status Matrix
Unique footage about the recording of the never-released George Michael album titled(?) Trojan Souls from 1993.
Mostly Deon Estus plays on his Status bass, but from 28:05 you can see how GM tried to explain his bass line idea for his fellow musicians.
Attention! Lot of Status sound on this video!

Re: Glastonbury
I have his book, he's not much into tech so might not say, he is on twitter though, ask him!

Lilly Allen's bassist was using a Status too, a shark I think!

Re: Glastonbury
Nice to see Guy Pratt with his brace of Statii at Glastonbury. Sounded fantastic!

Does anyone know does he string one with flats & one with roundwounds?

Re: Wally Lowe (Magnum)
Everything but the shape. Different neck profile, different neck attachment, different pickups, different tuners, different preamp.

Same quality as ever.

Re: Wally Lowe (Magnum)
Thanks guys.
What are the main differences between that pre-86 Series II and a modern S2-Classic?

Re: Wally Lowe (Magnum)
If you have a Series II I'd say you are eminently qualified to give an answer. Pity the quality isn't better but I'd agree with you.

Re: Wally Lowe (Magnum)
I'll go out on a limb here and call it a Series2. Probably a lot of far more qualified ppl. here to give you an answer, but that looks a damn lot like my bass.

Re: Wally Lowe (Magnum)
OK, probably not to many folk's taste and looking at it now, it hasn't aged well but this was the guy who inspired me to get a headless bass. It wasn't the playing, I just thought the bass looked cool :-)

Can anyone identify what model it is?

Re: Mike Porcaro's Status wanted
After all the search I did for the last couple of years, I unfortunately could not find Mike Porcaro's S2000 5-string that I was desperately looking for Angry

So I finally decided for the next best thing, and asked Rob last February to built me a kind of replica, after a long wait it arrived last week, and here it is, my brand new baby Cool

Model : "Standard" S2 Classic thru-neck, 5-string, Headless
Neck : Woven Carbon Graphite, 5-string, Fretted, Black Phenolic Fingerboard, White front-leds
String spacing : Standard
Body/finish : Alder body/core, Natural Graphite shell on the front and back faces , High gloss finish
Pickups/circuit : 2xSoap-bar / Board 303
Hardware : Black

Note : It arrived on my 20th Wedding Anniversary last Tuesday, I guess there are not a lot of you that ever had such a good wedding anniversary present from his wife Clap (to be honest, my wife did not had a clue, and bought me a good bottle of whisky Grin)

Re: Chris W - Muse
For me he moved it in just the right direction. But that's down to personal taste. Listening to Jonas Helborg playing his Status with the bridge pickup soloed, it just sounds to thin to me.

Re: Chris W - Muse
Just checked out the hi res pictures of his bass on the status website, some nice tweaks although imho he moved the bridge pick up the wrong way!
