Re: what year is my bass
I'm afraid that's slightly out.It will be late '86 maybe early '87
Value will depend on any special features or 'history' and obviously condition.
A bass in poor condition can be as little as £600 and a bass in top condition can be up to £1,500
Good luck and keep us informed!

Re: Where is my serial?
Although the shape of the horns are different and yours has the same body chamfers as a current S2 classic, rather than the more rounded shape of those Series 1s and Eclipse series.
You're right about the switch and the knob layout though (and the soapbar pickups), maybe it isn't an Energy after all!

Re: Where is my serial?
Now I'm sure it's a Series 1. This one looks almost identical to mine http://www.statii.com/status_cats/catalogues/16/index.html
What was the RRP when these were made (5 string, fretted, bolt-on neck, looks like walnut to my untrained eye)? And does anyone know when serial 1955 was made (approximately).
Thanks!
SM

Yes - I've been looking at the brochures in the resources section and my bass has a little switch and four knobs (whoah, technical description!). The Energy series seem to have three knobs and no switch...
Can anyone confirm?
Cheers!

Re: Where is my serial?
Nice bass!I reckon it's an Energy Artist as it's a bolt on neck but with the bookmatched facings.
The serial number should be stamped on the lower side of the bridge.

Re: Where is my serial?
Hi AllI got this little beauty from eBay about 3 years ago. Absolutely love it and play it all the time.
I think it's a Series 1 with the bolt-on wooden neck
But! I cannot seem to find the serial number...
Any ideas?
Cheers

Yep, sure is a beaut -the pride and joy of my collection .... any ideas on the dating process? Moo -you said you'd have a stab from the look of it?The alternative is for me to cut it in half and count the rings -can't say I really wanted to do that!
