Re: Energy Artist
From what I've read, I'd guess at March 1981 (0381 from the first part of the serial number) but I'm sure someone else will confirm or deny this!

Edit 12/6 : It's been pointed out to me that my guess above was complete bo33ocks so please excuse my ignorance!

Note to Andre - any sign of the "bassography" by model/date/seral number yet? This would be a brilliant resource, and I'm sure would take some of the pressure of consant enquiries off Rob and Dawn, leaving them more time to make and repair basses for us!

Re: Energy Artist
Hi there,
I'm new here and I'm French, so excuse me for the mistakes.
I'm going to buy, in a few days a Status Energy Artist, and I'd like to know when it was made. The serial number is 0381831.
Could anyone help me?

Thank you gentlemen! I now know that I own S2000 #06 Fretless. I bought it several years ago from Mike P's(Toto) brother-in-law in Boston. I also have a '96 Custom Shop/Limited Edition Eclipse, a beauty in mint condition right down to original strings. Thanks again! Ken

Wow... #06 that's great!!

not too sure how long after the Series II started did Rob make the first Series 2000 but i don't think it was too long... probably an '83-'84 bass... Andre???

Hello Ken,
If you look at it end on with the graphite side against you and the strings facing away, it'll be the right way up (so, the bottom of the numbers would be near the brass/graphite boundary - top of the numbers at the string edge)

Lol - I'm finding it remarkably hard to put such a simple thing into words...

Hope you understand me anyway, and lets see some photos of your S2000!

I refer the right honorable gentleman to my previous answer....

Re: Series 2000 Serial Numbers????
Can someone tell me which side, front or back, that you read the serial number on the string retainer. I have either S/N 06 or 90 and have never been certain which it is. Ken Albany, NY

Welcome to the forum.

It looks like an Energy to me, a very early one!

If so,
Body is Walnut
Polyester finish on the neck, Satin Polyurethane on the body
