Re: S2 serial number - where?
S2 Classic will have the number under the tuning knobs. Series II/2 will likely have the number on the string retainer at the end of the neck.Responded in S2 serial number - where?

Do You mean an S2 Classic OR a Series II???
A good question. I have no idea actually. I was told it was an S2 and I didn't really think about it.
I'll have another look for a number when I get home from work, but I'm sure there isn't one there!

Re: Empathy 5 strings serial number
Yes, I read about that rule already. But searching the database for Empathy's we get exceptions to that:
- 1995 / 046204
- 1998 / 1756/1171616
These might be abbreviated:
- 1998 / 1740
- 1995 / 2456
- 1989 / 704
This is the only one within the rule:
- 1997 / 971428
And these are all the 7 Empathy's in the database, and no pattern is visible to guess the serial number on mine.
But the stronger bet is definitely 98.
Thank you anyway!

Re: Empathy 5 strings serial number
That looks like July 1998. 07 is the month then the 8 is 1998. the other numbers just denote the number of the bass. Unless someone knows differently.Responded in Empathy 5 strings serial number

Re: Empathy 5 strings serial number
Hi all!I have a Empathy 5 strings, with serial number 0782226, which I bought used some years ago, and I would like to know if anyone has a clue on what year it was made.
I've already sent an email to Rob, but I got no answer...
I've also checked the Database, but I find no pattern in all the Empathy's serials.
If someone could give me hand?
Cheers,
Paulo

Re: S2000 serial number 318
My FPPR Series 2000 is 327, just after yours.I have mine dated as '89 but I'm not sure how I got to that. I know Rob's seen it and maybe we found the original production card for it up at Colchester!
Who knows!!!

Re: S2000 serial number 318
I'd say not earlier than '90, S2000 production was slower than the SII.Responded in S2000 serial number 318

Re: S2000 serial number 318
Any idea of year? '88? '89? It is the graphite weave finish, original thick neck all the way to heel, no switch or led between jack and controls, status pickups not gmt, status in the lines on bridge not the curving script. Will add pic tomorrow if it helps.

Re: Another date thread
Email Status, normally pretty good but they are usually busy so yours will be a low priority for a reply unless some here can help out.Responded in Another date thread

Re: Another date thread
Hey, I bought a Series 4000 a couple of weeks ago and am trying to find as much info on it as I can as I like to know everything about the instruments in my collection. The serial number is 245. I tried the databass but only one S4000 was registered and that is bass no 127. Is there any other database where I can find out production date?Responded in Another date thread

Re: Dating my Energy Bass... I know, sorry...
I think if you click on 'Register' below the submit button you should be able to put in you details there. I used the same details as I do for the main site.Responded in Dating my Energy Bass... I know, sorry...

Re: Dating my Energy Bass... I know, sorry...
If you have a look on the database (link at top of this page) you might be able to find a serial number that is close to yours. That might help with dating the instrument. Otherwise have alook around the 'Catalogues & more' which might also help (again link at top of page).Responded in Dating my Energy Bass... I know, sorry...

Re: Dating my Energy Bass... I know, sorry...
Hello all, I write this message from france. I recently bought a used Satus Energy Bass with a broken head...
It's a 4 strings Energy V1 (according to the electronic circuit). Between the neck and the body, there are several signatures (like Rob himself, but also Jean, SDC, JRM, SMC, etc...)
on the neck, there is a "56W" hand written, and on the body, a "56"
The electronic circuit is labeled "Energy V1.0" and there is a Rob Green Signature.
And, at the back of the head, there a number : 2152
Can anybody help me dating this instrument ? There is not so much infos on the net. I mailed Rob on the site but still no answer.
Thank you !
