Re: Hi from Cambridge
Welcome! I'm down the road in Bedford. Groove basses sound fantastic!! Really a take on the old T Basses but still super cool.

....that's apple predictive text for you. It should have said "coveted", as in "thy neighbour's Ox" etc.

Great video and even better S2! Jealous much!

Re: Hi from Cambridge
Welcome on board. I have to ask; how did you convert the Series 2?

Re: Hi from Cambridge
Having converted a Series 2, since seeing one round Mark King's neck in the Bass Centre from Guitarist Nov '84 and having just missed the boat on a Series 2000 and an S2 5 string....Just got a bargain of a The Groove Bass in Claret. Having had a Stingray5, this Status challenges that's industry standard moniker.
Still looking out for a 4 string S2!

Re: Hi from Italy
Greetings to all fellow members...
I'm an old? young? (47)
bass and stick player from Italy
I've owned variuos Status basses in the past, now I've got a wooden series 1 bolt-on
and enjoy it, more than in the past...
even I used to own better ones (maybe I'm ready now?)
Other stuff include
-Kubicki ex factor ( pre-fender model)
-Steinberger XM (still with HAZ preamp)
-Attitude II and III
-NS Stick
-Italian made fretless 'Meridian'
all of them 4 strings, I don't like 5 and 6 strings and prefer
the NS for extending range.
Nice to be here, nothing but BASS

Re: Hello from Munich
Glockenklang are serious amps, expensive though! I like Vanderkley for pure sound, made in Holland.
Great to be inspired, I was like that after visiting Moos Grin

Re: Hello from Munich
Started playing bass in 2011 without any musical pre-knowledge - thanks to all the guys on youtube :-). My first equipment was an Ibanez SRX 360 with Eden WTX 264 and Markbass Traveller 1x12. 2 years later I extended my equipment with a Carvin SB4000, Eden WT 550 and a Markbass 2x12. Then I heared that 10" responds faster. So I added an Eden EX 4x10.
In 2012 I went to a professional bass teacher. He owns actually 7 Status basses and his wife has 5. You can imagine that this is very inspiring. Couldn´t resist. Ordered January 2016 a S2 classic headless, neckthrough, chrome hardware and silver metallic lacquer. Deliverd June 2016 I was more than happy with the bass but couldn´t find my sound with my Eden equipment (too much Eden Sound instead of the real sound of a status). Testing Testing Testing ... new hardware and landed finally at Glockenklang. You have to try the combination of a Status bass with a Glockenklang Blue Sky amp combined with a Take 5 Neo cabinet. You can hear every tone the comes out of the bass - but also every mistake you make. Encourages you to pracitce even more.

Re: Hello from Sweden
Hi there!
My name is Simon and i live in sweden. I just acquired my first status, a (sparkle)red series 4000 (i believe). I am a complete Status noob and will probably ask a couple of obvious questions.
My other gear consists of G&l and Music Man basses, ash down and Yamaha amps.
