Hello there,

I'm in the market for a Status. I've found a good deal on a 5 strings. I don't know which model it is: it looks like an Energy, 5 strings, 3 knobs, one toggle switch (guessing for active-passive), serial number 3579... any clue?

Might be easier if you were to post some pictures perhaps?

Seems to me to be a 5 string Energy bass from the 90's

Take a look here that might help : https://www.statii-catalogues.com/ and here specifically for a catalogue that includes the Energy model https://www.statii-catalogues.com/pro...990's and there are many more.

Hope that helps and sure other members can contribute!

Thank you for the answer!

I thought it was a 5 string energy too, but I don't see any model with both the clearer part at the end of the neck and the toggle switch... maybe it has been customized in some ways?

Of course, the seller doesn't know anything about it... just that it sounds terrific Grin

anyway, I'm trying to get it for 400 euros... it would be a fair price, right?

I learned how to play bass on my music teacher's Status Groove, it's the only Status I've ever played and I liked it a lot, but it's been almost 20 years since then and I don't know what price would be right...

Or is it an Eclipse?

Either way, remember, it's a bit short of a full Status, having only a carbon re-inforced neck...

I've written an email to Rob from Status: he says that it is indeed an Energy from the mid 90s, but he doesn't know about that switch. Eclipses have four knobs and, if I recall correctly, they have a top...
