s2 special from 19??: Status Basses

Hi folks, I may purchase a status s2 with a very special spalted maple top. It carries the serial number 3838, is a headless and has no trossrod. The poti heads are all broken. The axles are 4mm. Can I get replacements? What year was this beaut made? What are the chances, if ever needed, of having the frets replaced ? Hoping for a few answers...

Firstly, can we see some pictures of this beauty!

Secondly, everything is replaceable and repairable! The best thing to do is send the bass back to Rob Green at Status. He made it, he can fix it best!

I can give you a rough idea of age if I could see the bass so take some nice pictures and get them up here!

I may be (and probably am) wrong, but I think it could be an Empathy, not an S2. I'm sure someone else (where are you, Moo) will know for sure.

Whatever it is, it's very very nice!

I'm having real trouble at the moment, I've decided on my next 2 Status basses but can't afford to even place a deposit until October :( Oh, plus I can't decide which one to get first...

Yes it's a Series II. I would say from sometime around the mid 90's

I've seen this bass before somewhere!!???!!

Send it back to Rob... Spend a few hundred €'s on it and it'll be as good as new!!!

Thanx for the reply... where have u seen it ?? After playing for a few hours now, I must say the pups are very sensible to static. My speakers don´t hiss like this with my other basses. Aren´t the hyperactive pups humcancelling ??
