Yes, i wouldn't really think changing hardware colour constitutes a 'facelift'..

maybe you should change the title to...

'not a facelift as such..but..has anyone got any gold hardware?

Right, retainer is on and looking good. However, not sure what to do with the knobs...

The gold ones have grub screws to secure to the shaft but the black ones dont. Im assuming that you can just pull off the black ones then screw on the gold ones, but I dont wanna break it...

Any thoughts?

You must pull BUT make sure you use an industry standard 3/4" reverse thread torque flinch. This will ensure the wood doesn't crack underneath them!

I would lend you mine but I only have a left handed one!

Todd is a mechanic so he might be able to explain if there are any alternatives!

Your technique is right on the money Moo, just that you have to make sure the parambulation of the nut extremity is not inserted by the patanical offshoot.

It was actually Dave that pointed this out to me the first time.
