Neck coming apart!

I contacted Bru about the problem and suggested a temporary fix.
It does look like the truss-rod has been over-tweaked but I can't say for sure until I see the neck. It may be extreme temperature problems.

Please note that some graphite neck basses (around 2000 - 2003) had a 5mm truss-rod that worked 'backwards' so it has been known for people to turn it the 'wrong' way.
When the neck gets worse, they turn it a bit more until something breaks.

I don't know if it is the case here but I'm sure we can fix the problem given time.

Truss-rod / set-up info can be found in the F.A.Q section of our web-site.

Regards, Rob.

Crossed my mind as well, but the way it looks almost "warped" defies that theory!

In my expert opinion... I would say the neck is 'coming apart' like a bas***d!

;)

Rob's your man. I have never seen this before!

So tell us, in the end, how many home runs did you get with it? :D

Repeat after me: overdoing it with the truss rod is a very bad thing :o)
OK looks pretty bad, hope that my Kingbass stays in one piece (knock on graphite) and that your problem is solved

The fret board is basically a strip of plastic that is glued onto the graphite neck. I guess anything's possible but I don't think I've ever seen this before!

Good luck

Weird. I bought a Stealth II from an estate sale in Arizona where the case was presumably sitting in someone's car trunk in the desert sun melting and buckling but the bass is still spot on.
so much gear, so little time.

I am curious to see pics too. Last time I was in NO was summer of 2002 and it was unbelievably hot and humid. On par with Southeast Asia on the miserability index. So perhaps such an extreme environment over time has an effect on the phenolic/graphite bind?? But as Enzo said, get Rob's opinion.
