Hi fellow friends of basses! I have a Status Energy 4 string 1996 model (swamp ash body) which I love for playability. However, I find the sounds not the most versatile and basically use the bridge PU exclusively. As the original onboard electronics are starting to get a bit long in the tooth, I am thinking of changing the hyperactive soapbars for Seymour Duncan SSB4's and the preamp for a Sadowsky one. Has anyone done that or similar mods? What was your experience? I am looking for a slightly more growly sound.
