Thanks John, Observing the pictures I think my choice is made : Royal Blue with Blue leds should be a nice match Cool About the wood, the thing you say about the "expensive" Exotic Wood is just the thougts that I have about the fact that there seems to be no difference in the price between the more expensive Exotic wood and the cheaper Maple wood Shock So if the choice is mine, I prefer an Exotic wood. Does anyone has experience with colour finish over any kind of Exotic wood ? Paul

John is right. I was thinking of getting a tint on my latest moo wood bass but Rob decided against it as tints only really work well over very white woods i.e. maple & ash. The problem with more exotic woods is the features and colour differences have an effect on the tint and it doesn't look so good! This is what Rob said to me! if you want a colour tint I too suggest a really nice quilted maple... This is one of the most beautiful basses I have seen... Almost bought it! i49.photobucket.com/albums/f284/MatthewAshenden/DSCF1846_72.jpg Red on maple!

Paul, This sounds exactly like the conversation I had with Dawn a few weeks ago when I ordered my "Royal Blue" S2. Settled for a "white" quilted maple in the end on their advice and if it comes up anything like the bass above I will be very happy indeed. The one that themoo posted looks fantastic, even if it is red ;-) (haven't worked out the smileys yet!). If it helps, I did have a mahogany guitar made a few years ago that I asked for a blue finish on (they recommended a natural finish at the time but I insisted!). I should have listened as it ended up being quite a dirty blackish/blue due to the underlying colour of the wood. Unfortunately I don't have the guitar anymore (it did play very well, but I had to sell) and don't have any pictures of it. Cheers Paul

Flamed maple looks great with a tint, I prefer it to quilted myself. Should look lovely, make sure you get some pics up when its done!

Superb bass. One of my favourite colours and over a lovely bit of facing wood. Nice touch on the graphite tint as well.

Hi, I am thinking of buying the Aqua Blue Fretless S2 5-string which is still in the "In Stock" page on Rob's website. When I have made my decision, I am afraid that I have to let go this beauty Frown If anyone is interested, please let me know by sending a PM. Thanks, Paul
