Darren, that is absolutely spot on!!!! There is just the one slight improvement that you mentioned before that would capture the full ambiance of tone. The "outside" pickup, as you said, it would fully capture all aspects of the basses tone. Too bad there is not enough room for one more pickup just below the tone controls.
