Guess the tongue wasn't far enough in the cheek regarding the "Status" sound on my jazz... I suppose if you're really going to compare it to another jazz I'd say it sounds a little "Marcus Miller" like...for half the outlay. It's still a jazz,but with 50% extra oomph. That East preamp is the best set of tone controls I've ever heard. You can still run in passive mode and get the old school jazz sound which is great for some stuff..but the East pre has taken the little old cheapo Squier up to another level!
