They switched late '85 I think. My first one with the larger headpiece is Feb '86
My S2000 is from 1984 and has the larger headpiece.

hmmmm My Series II #147 is from 1984 too and has the smaller head piece!Looks like it might have been '84 then! Lots earlier than I thought! I would ask Rob but I don't think he remembers back that far!
