Hello. My name is Jason and ... I'm a graphite addict.
It all started a couple years ago when I stumbled across an Empathy 6 string that I knew was way under priced. I don't play 6 strings but... I just had to have it. How could I pass up a chance to own and play a world class bass for a few months and actually make 500 bucks? I'm only human!
Then a couple months ago, I found an older Status Matrix with a J/J pickup configuration. I had just been laid off and buying a bass probably wasn't the wisest move but I couldn't help myself. I'm hooked!
I've been fortunate enough to own some great basses in the past. Warwick, Alembic, Stingray... but something about Status... The punch. The attack. The clarity. And the tone!! Oh my god!! It's worse than crack!
Once I'm working again I hope to put some newer pickups in. I'd really like to change the pre-amp as well. The Matrix sounds great but I'd love to put in something similar to the Empathys pre-amp if possible.

Welcome Jason, good to see another U.S. Status owner. You probably aren't aware of it yet, but you don't actually own a Status until you post the pictures here :).
Welcome to the forum Jason !
