Status 3000 back in the rack with the rest of the gang. Now passive with a Tone Styler 12 position Varitone control and a new pair of Status 'J' type pickups made for me courtesy of Mr Green. Very pleased with the results after the strip down and refurb. Wanted to keep the original look. Looks and sounds superb.

It's why people generally go back to them. They maintain deep loyalty and reputation by just being normal approachable people. There aren't many that are mainstream builders and still offer a bespoke service. Well done Status.

Spoke to Dawn on the phone today. She told me Rob is prepared to make me a pair of the old style Status 'J' pickups with the Status gold logo on the cases. What can I say. ?? If there were more companies that are prepared to go that extra mile like Rob and Dawn have then the country wouldn't be on it's arse. Thanks again Status. Ian.

Just spoken Dawn at Status ( who Is very helpful I must add) She is going to see if they have any of the older 'J' type pickups kicking about with the Status logo embossed in gold on the covers. I prefer them to the newer plain units which they currently sell ;-)

Looking great. Even on the cheaper models great bits of wood were used.

Finest American Walnut no less. Was toying with the idea of having it sprayed Postman Pat Red but I bottled it :-( Maybe next time.

All good. Was supposed to be a joke of some sort, based on the obvious number 68.
My bad. I have no reason to doubt the number you have posted.

Another sad example illustrating that jokes + language barriers + lack of facial expression= Not a good idea.

Really sorry for the misunderstanding

/DK.

No problem. I don't know why 68 is written in the neck pocket. It's also written on the heel of the neck. Maybe someone else has the answer. :-0

Hmm. Could have sworn that bass was number 68.....

Seriously. Nice job. Looking forward to seeing the finished job.

68 is written in pen in the neck socket but the serial number stamped on the string retainer is definitely 066 ;-)
